Party Time!

Last night was the first party i ever threw! ROKon realise party for issue 5 was a great success.. not knowing who would show up on a Friday night starting at 11 pm in a hard to find club, i managed to book 5 bands and a set of DJs with help from the club manager!

It was a roking good time! Great vibes, and good turn out of all different kind of people-- we had country music, indi rok n' roll, Punk, and the best Rockabilly Korea band of all time, the ROK Tigers who brought along a hoard of screaming groupies who's mom's may have been wondering were they were! Last but not least our head liners Jet Echo started around 4 am, and had the remaining crowd dancing interpretively to their psychedelic sonic space rock! Also a video light show by my artsy friend Chen made it great, and Tahl's decorations also. Not to mention the Cheeky Monkeys, some cuddly cute DJS from the UK who kept us moving between sets.

Tahl and I were the MCs and managed to give prizes to people.

Our new issue looks 100 times better, with our new professional designer and FULL COLOR printing!! A quantum leap in the world of ROKon mEgAzInE!! yay.

I will put pictures of the show up on Monday, and write about it on the ROKon blog as well!

In other issues, i'm preparing to give midterms to my students, and Hyon Gak Sunim, our favorite trash talking New Jersey monk is back in the house. I mean temple.

Its cold and snowy, and i got a new purple jacket! Also looking forward to coming home for Christmas for one whole month in 21 days! I have a feeling i may be culture shocked- have been quite the city grrl lately.
