The fall has finally come to Korea... no more clouds of humid and grey skies here, everything is getting bright and blue. I've been out meeting lots of wonderful people from all over the world. Its so nice to meet friends who are not people I would have a chance to talk to at home. I'm enjoying teaching (sometimes), and am having fun with my students more and more. Teaching kids makes me remember what it was like to be one, and how your imagination can take you anywhere. They always come up with such cool things in their writing and drawing and stuff, it is always surprising. Kids are really amazing, but its sad to think of them growing up and loosing the shiny qualities about them, like so many people seem to have done. . .I'm pretty happy in my new situation here. Am going to yoga and the temple and restaurants in my spare time, and still have fun and many mind altering conversations on the weekends with all the amateur philosophers out there like me. I am finding more about Seoul, and people are still extremely nice here. This picture is by Bex at Deachon... A shout out to Sam e. the Wire, who's birthday it is, and especially to Laura, who is going to college in a week in Seattle. I miss my sister! I know she’s got for more common sense than me, so will get by just fine in college. ;) Just one more thing I wanted to tell you... The Chinese character for Heart looks like this :

It means heart and mind, because in Asia the Mind is viewd be in your heart rather than you head. I'm not sure what the implications of this idea are I studied this for my senior project in school, and learned that according to Daoists the mind is your heart is a mysterious mirror of some kind. =) I think that people here, Buddhist Christian or Whatever still have this philosophy in the drinking water, its not quite something you can put your finger on... but my friend Greg says , "that's why we're in Asia!" I don't know?
Ok, thats all for now, I'm going to take lots of pictures soon.
