Hello all! I am writing from a PC room in the vicinity of my new apartment by Silim station. I am livin in actual big Seoul city now, and I think I am going to really enjoy living here for a while. The new school is cool, with a bunch of young teachers there, a nice laid back boss and some Stellar Kids (Who i am training from the start not to abuse me. hehe!) Plus my awesome friend Paul is the supervisor, and he gives me peanut butter sandwiches when no one is looking. We are working some long hours for the summer intensive program, but it flies by pretty quickly.
I made several discoveries today which made my day sparkle brightly.. the first being a beautiful Buddhist temple on a mountain, which I spotted from my rooftop from the gaint gold Buddha out in front... Its peaceful there, and got to sit in the temple a bit at the invitations of some old ladies. (ajumas) The surrounding neighborhood around it is quite cool too, with narrow ally way and viney plants spilling over brick balconies. In the rain finding the temple was quite magically delicious.. Afterwards I climbed up the mountain, which was full of real actual nature!!! I am psyched needless to say, as this is only about 10 minutes from my house. Also the surrounding city is quite cool with some Amazing clothes stores, better than urban outfitters by trillions. I think I'm really going to like living here... I will take some pictures and post them later, as well as maps of Seoul to show you where I am.
I really wish I could share all my experiences with my family and friends in the states as of now. It doesn't seem fair that I get to see all this stuff and not be able to share but a fraction. . . So come on and visit me any time. ;-)
