ROKon MEGA~zine

The Low Down on ROKon

Okay everyone.. so if you have been hanging around me in Korea, you know that I obsessively talk, eat breath and sleep on one thing... R.O.K.on MEGA~zine.... for those on far shores, or not in the know, I'll just say: My Zine partner Shelton "Lee" Bumgarer and I basically started this magazine with our mutual passion for reading strange publications, and finding a lack of interesting reading in English in Seoul...

We started off with our first to issues being in black and white xerox at kinkos, glue and scissors style (actually we just did "art and craft" projects with our Hagwon students for a few weeks, and that how the first magazine was made....just kidding!)

Well, we gathered lots of interest and support, and the above pic is the final product of our 4th issue, which you can DOWNLOAD at www.rokonmagazine.com

I did the layout for this issue, which is why most of the words are spelled wrong. Its ok tho...I won't tell anyone if you wont.

you can also read my latest article on the site, under the name Annie Padma :)

ROK means Republic Of Korea, (where I live) and ROCK ON! as in, Rock on Garth! Keep on Rockin' in the free world, Rockon! this bands freakin' Rocks!! The last issue printed 2000 copies, and we have more and more adds!!

Ok. That's all for now. In the work front I am giving midterms to my students who I am very proud of... some of them actually made Britney spears masks for the presentations that I gave them, and guy with long hair and earrings in one group did a wonderful impression of yours truly for his group's skit "Oh, lets go do yoga class~!" :)

Love,
annie
