Last night Joshua decided to drag me and Janika (I will put pictures up of those guys later) along with his Irish friend from else where in Seoul up a little mountain at night... There was a large standing Buddha statue at the base of the mountain, who was painted gold and wore a Korean style hat, and a monk who lived in a little hut... We went up a steep ascent for about 45 minutes, and when we reached the top got a fantastic view of glittering Seoul in all directions. I've never seen so many lights sprawling into eternity. Seoul is among the most populous cities in the world, some say the biggest, other sources say the 3rd or 4th. We didn't stay up there long, cause it is really cold here right now. Hopefully Josh got some pics, but maybe not.. Anyways, its going to be good in the spring when the cherry blossoms come out.
Tomorrow start teaching, about 5 classes for 45 minutes each. Yikes! Also Josh's Irish friend Nessa who has been here for three years is going to take me to the international Zen monastery (Seon as it's called here) on Sunday for 1.5 hours of meditation and dharma talk, in english. yippi!!
much love,
annie
